Dr. Nimesh G Desai is Former Director, Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, Delhi. He has made an immense contribution to the development and has helped IHBAS to achieve the status of “An Institute of National Importance”. He served on the faculty of two of the best academic institutions (National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences or NIMHANS, Bangalore for 6 years and AIIMS, Delhi for 10 years. He joined IHBAS in 1998, and has served there for 11 years as Head, Department of Psychiatry and also as Medical Superintendent of the IHBAS for most of those years. He has received Bharat Swastha Samman by LIC-Zee News, Award for his Outstanding Contribution in the field of Psychiatry along with other national awards.
